All's Well That Ends Well (Although It Didn't Seem So At the Time)

We found a place to move to. Hooray!

Or so we thought...

We moved in and after only 2 nights of sleeping there, had a horrific rainstorm and the place leaked like a damn seive! Water everywhere.

Needless to say we moved out the next day.

Had a bit of a confrontation with the landlady about refunding all our money (minus the week we actually were there moving in). In the end, she agreed to refund it. We could have dragged her through court, called the Codes Officer and all that but we really did not want to go that route. After threatening her (nicely of course) she realized that we would win and that the place is not habitable. So, she agreed to give the money back.

So now we are living in a relative's house (it's usually empty so it's good to have someone here) and paying rent to the cousins (which helps them and helps us).

So all's well that ends well.

But I'll tell ya this...I am too old for this stuff!!!! I am so totally whipped it's not even funny. Moving three times in one week is too much for me!

I have ignored writing here because of all the fooferah that's been going on with the move and all. Now am finally situated to where I can pay attention to things again.

Hot here the last couple days. 100 day before yesterday. 90s yesterday. 90s today. Finally thunderstorms came through. Cooled down nicely. It's about 65 out there now! Whew! Relief!

Enough about the trials and tribulations of being a tenant

Procrastinator's Anonymous

I am a life-time member of this group. Dues paid in full. (well, maybe not in full but I'll get to it - eventually - trust me)

I have many photos from a dear family member to scan and upload to the family web site. I have other digital files of photos from two other dear family members to put on the web site. I have all the photos I took at the Memorial Day Weekend cookout to transfer from my camera, compress them for file size and get them on the web site. I also finally learned how to use my digital camera to take video movies and I have to learn how to get those onto the web site.

Tonight, finally, after much (you guessed it) procrastination; I got my husband's expense report scanned in and sent to the office after fumbling around trying to scan it as a .pdf document and keep the file size small enough to send as an email attachment without plugging up the Office Admin's email and hogging all the bandwidth in the entire United States, Canada, Mexico and numerous European countries!

There is a lot I need to do that I just haven't done yet. I'll do it all this week. My intentions are good. I really have every intention in the world of doing these things. This week. Early this week. Really.

Procrastination is like that itch I can't quite reach to scratch. It lurks stealthily in my mind all the time. Procrastination (that sneaky beast) is always looking over my shoulder, whispering in my ear, urging me to just wait, put it off, it'll keep. Plenty of time for all that stuff later...

In the Procrastinator's Anonymous club, I am the founding mother of the whole dang shebang and my card is numbered 000001!

I have a whole bunch of things I want to talk about but tonight doesn't seem to be the night. I am kind of tired from two days of cook outs and drinking some alcoholic beverages (which is something I really very seldom do these days). Sounds like procrastination doesn't it?

So...until perhaps tomorrow, or the next day, or the next...

More later.

Disappointing Drudge

I used to go every single day and check out the Drudge Report online. Every day. Now I check it once in awhile. Drudge sold out. He used to actually have news on there that was unique and he'd be the first one to have it. He has become, well, a Drudge. Disappointing.

Examples from today's site:

Teen arrested for posting naked photos of ex-girlfriend on MYSPACE page...

ELECTRICITY: MADONNA, SHARON STONE TEAM IN CANNES...

BILL: HOW ABOUT CHELSEA FOR PRESIDENT?

California Congresswoman walked away from $578K mortgage...

Well I think you get the picture.

So now I am looking for new daily web sites from which to get my news. CNN? I don't think so! I'll find something. Google, google, google!

Today it's raining - again - still. Not too warm either. Hopefully by the weekend (Memorial Day) we'll have spring/summer like weather. I hope so.

So if anyone out there has a suggestion for a good news source that's not mainstream please let me know!

Today I Will...

try really hard to not complain about anything!

I read this article about women in California who are sleeping in their cars! They are working women (I am sure there are some men out there in this situation too but this article was about women) who cannot afford a place to live. The city opens up a parking lot specifically for them to sleep in, in their cars, from 7p.m to 7a.m.

How sad is this?

I will not complain about the weather. I will not complain about not having enough money. At least I have a place to live. And food to eat, and gas for the p/u truck if I want to go somewhere.
And money to rent a movie if I want to, and buy a cup of coffee or a treat, or a pizza or something.

This is pathetic, that in America, this kind of thing is happening. :-((

Beginning Bamblings

I told myself numerous times I was going to do one of these blog thingees one of these days.

Procrastination is my middle name. That's Bambling Procrastination Blatherskite to those that know me. Bobbi to those who don't.

Today is gray, hazy, looks like it's going to rain any second - and it's COLD!

My better half is off rooting for tubers in Western NY and I am here in Central NY, foraging for ideas.

I want to start my own business. I do not have one clue what it will be. I have at least 1,452 clues! Too many ideas racing around in my brain! I need to snag one and hang onto it.

Looking for houses and/or apartments to rent. Not a fun thing. No pets, no smoking, no breathing, no parking, no living, no this, no that! Frustrating but I'll find something one of these days.

Thank goodness for understanding and loving relatives (you know who you are!)

I think that I got my feet wet anyway. More later...
